Most of the children have a parent drop off, or a driver drop off and pick up. Some older children drive them selfs to school daily.
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
The school is basic, but on that note was only opend in Sept 2007. Most afternoons there are clubs run. Music, Football, Rugby, Drama, Cricket. The facilities are very basic and a lot is expected from the PTA to fund school's day to day running.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
To be honest nothing! If i had the choice over again, I would have left my child at a uk independent school. The school and the teaching staff have by no means delivered the key factors, set out in the schools ethos. Infact the ethos to bring a British way of teaching to TT, has been very much lost in the choice of Teaching staff by the school governors.
A primary school Deputy headmaster, would never move on to be the principal of a British High school. Just one of many mistakes.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
The PTA is very much up and running and at times keeps the school going. They hold meet and greet once a year.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
Think twice and look at the other options on offer in Trinidad. The American and Canadians both have good internaional school's in POS.Also some of the local schools are very good.
