The schools (boys and girls after prescholar) are equipt with basketball courts, playground and tumbling room(for preschool), volley courts, computer labs, science labs, and lunch room.
Excellent extra-currricular activities beginning at age 4 (Transitory). They are provided after school at no additional cost (omitting uniforms/costume needs)...futbol, basketball, dance, volley ball, swimming (additional cost due to rental of facilities/instructors), bici-cross.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
The curriculum is really half english and half spanish. I feel this was the best situation for my children. I was able to tell my son, half the day you are struggling and the other half the day your friends are struggling...just help each other out and you will do great.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
This is a Catholic school, though we are not, so there are masses that parents are invited to but there are also breakfasts for the mothers, father/son sports, and an annual fair. There is a PTA of sorts that is active in raising money for the school.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
There is an English Coordinator and Spanish Coordinator for the different levels of the school (preschool, primary, secondary, etc.) It is important to get to know them. The english coor. speaks the english and can help YOU as the parent communicate if you language skills are not at the level you wish. The spanish coor. can help your child with their spanish and can refer you to a tudor if needed. If they are very young, there will be no problems!
