How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)
British
What grade levels are represented at this school?
pre school to Sixth Form (3-18)

Secondary - mostly by bus. Some by car. Primary - most by car, some by bus
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
Secondary school facilities are fantastic. Full 50m pool, lovely split level library, air-conditioned sports hall. Specialist science laboratories and a brilliant DT centre
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
There was a great transition for my hildren who were following the English National Curriculum in an international school in the Middle East. The school was very thorough when looking through my children's entrance tests and advising how they could best support them, option choices etc. The school has a broad range of GCSE and A levels that are common to most other schools and therefore the transition has been very smooth.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
Very nice Newcomers Coffee Mornings and good input from the PTA and other societies. The school made me feel very welcome and have responded promptly to my queries. There was lots to learn about the school but the staff were very good at explaining systems etc.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
Definately make The Alice Smith School your priority if you are looking for British Education in KL. The school has an academic focus but is very well balanced with extra curricular activities, trips, sports and some great musical and performance evenings. Don't be put off by the fact it is out of town - no school in KL can compete with the spaciousness of Alice Smith and the bus journeys are no longer than those for the schools in central KL.
