How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Most children are brought to school by car. Those who live close to school walk. There are bus services available but these are usually organized by companies who have a number of children at the school.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

The school facilites are very good particularly at the elementary school and for physical educational and sports activities. I know that the school has a master plan and is building new facilities as money is available.

There are many, many extra-curricular activities available all the way through the school. Middle school offerings could be increased. There is a wide variety of activities from academics to sports, to the arts.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

There are no specific programs directed at transition as far as I can tell except in the high school. There students can take an excellent careers course to help them get into university and deal with day to day living once they get there. The school also attempts to buddy kids up when they arrive to help them make friends and feel at home. There are three counselors on staff who help kids and families deal with changes and the problems associated with them.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

The school has a PTA that is very active. It has promoted many activities during the school year to help the school and to bring parents together. Unfortunately it is difficult to get volunteers in the community so many times it is the same 15 people who do all the work!

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

This is a excellent all round school. It provides a good academic program, lots of extra-curricular activities and does it in a nice environment. The staff are well qualified and put in lots of time and effort to do a good job for the students. Some grade levels get filled up because there is only so much space so applying early is smart. Be sure to have all of your child's school records with your application so it isn't delayed. It has been a great experience for our child!
