How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Excellent. The school is very interested in ensuring that a variety of activities are in the program. They have a soccer field, swimming pool, playground area, organized sports teams, drama programs, and annual concerts for the children to participate in. The environment is very enriching for the students and the families are encouraged to participate as well.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

This is a truly international school, with children from a wide variety of cultures, religions and creeds. The spend a lot of time reviewing the various countries around the globe, the focus being on understanding differences in culture and lifestyles in the various countries. Students are encouraged to share their experiences about living abroad, and this helps to prepare the children for the next move.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

Excellent. Parents are encouraged to participate in the scholastic development of their children through volunteer work at the school. The groups are organized by the parents with a lot of interaction from the faculty. Everybody benefits from the interaction, not least including the parents and students. It is a true family atmosphere at OFS and that is strongly encouraged by the school itself.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Speak with some of the other expacts in your community. We had the choice of enrolling our child in the Canadian International school, but decided that we would choose OFS based on the feedback received from other parents. We were not disappointed and feel strongly that we chose wisely.
