Primary School up to year 6

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

The school is close to a big park right in the center of Berlin (Berlin - Mitte), east part. Kids come by subway, train, tram, bike or car.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

School opened in September 2007. It provides affordable English-German education for English speaking or bilingual families. Currently three classes with 20-24 students. The school is set to grow to 280 students within the next years. Big building - large green backyard/playground. Extra curricular activities include visits to nearby museums, theaters and other cultural events. Art clubs, pottery and music lessons, sports and swimming activities etc. School is run by a truy enthusiastic team of teachers, educators and staff members. Warm and friendly atmosphere.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

The school is based on bilingualism with 70 percent English and 30 percent german teaching. No German is required to start. Kids have no problems to adapt to this system, it helps to live out both cultures whilst in Germany. German is picked up easily by the children. British + German curriculum. Many native speakers + bilingual kids.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

School started out as a parent initiative, highly motivated families, supported by a strong and committed PTA. Parent teacher meetings are regular, as well as parent meetings

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Apply early! Best way to help your child to become bilingual.
