How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
Excellent facilities; sports and music programs are great. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
Her future teacher at ACS sent an email message to my child while were still in California. It was a great way for her to get excited about moving.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
Social activities are well organized by PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student Association)
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
Consider ACS if you are not up to challenging your children to take on the British system, which will demand more at an early age. Hillingdon is located in the wonderful, family friendly county of Buckinghamshire (Bucks) and it has 2 other affiliate campuses. Talk to the admin people to get best advice on where other expats live so you don't feel so isolated and can be in a neighborhood where your child may more likely have a friend right away.
