Catholic Prep School with English Instruction

What grade levels are represented at this school?

PK (4 years old) - Grade 12

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Most get to school in private cars, carpool and the school offers bus service for some parts of the city.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

The facilities are brand new (2007) and very nice. They have a soccer field, basketball/volleyball courts and the classrooms are spacious, open and the weather is cooler than most schools in the city. They have soccer, basketball and track and field for kids of all ages, clubs and community service, music, guitar.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

They have a U.S. style curriculum and also follow the Core Knowledge Sequence. They have special Spanish to help kids who do not speak Spanish, which is nice.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

The Parent Association is very active in planning events like soccer tournaments, a family sunday, and Christmas evening concerts. Nicaraguans are very warm and welcoming to foreigners.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

This is a good choice for someone looking for a strong academic program, a small school atmosphere where everyone knows each other and a traditional Catholic environment.
