Parent's Review of QSI Atyrau in Atyrau, Kazakhstan
What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)
QSI Atyrau
In what town or city is this school located?
Atyrau
How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)
American
What grade levels are represented at this school?
PreK -12
How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)
Bus and taxi
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
Agree with other parents that facilities are very poor for the high cost we pay. A shared playground where the bigger kids never get time a way from the younger ones doesn't work. The Kindergarten doesn't have good native English speaking qualified teachers! The English there is poor or limited at best. I want my kid to learn not just play and sleep most of the time. Extra activities a joke and not much available. Only one proper PE teacher.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
Nothing as these dummies focus on their own farcical little system of 'mastery' learning where kids only get two grades - unreal.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
Parent group - crap. Dominated by 2-3 housewives including a domineering teacher's wife.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
don't do it.... get a job somewhere else.
