What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

The English School

In what town or city is this school located?

Salmiya

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

British Prep School - kids mainly from UK, US, South Africa, India

What grade levels are represented at this school?

Pre KG - Year 7 (Age 3 - 12)

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Buses or Parents. Some parking around the school is provided.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

The facilities are good. There is a Gym and a swimming pool. Extra-curricular activities are varied and encouraged. The school is not for profit and therefore all the fees go back into the school.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Our daughter was born in Kuwait and started education here. The curriculum is as per UK - the standard of teaching is pretty good, and importantly the standard of child and parent is also good. There are no programs I know of for repatriation. the kids love the school - as do the parents and it is a good social hub.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There is a teacher parent association - although there are no forums for parents with the governors - which is somewhat odd.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

It is the best school in Kuwait for British kids aged 3-11. Many parents then consider moving their kids to Kuwait English School for their Secondary education.
