What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
Not much, in fact it was a very shocking experience. After my child was admitted to Bangalore International school and after she attended a week at school, The management and head realized that they had gone over the stipulated number of kids who can be admitted per class. I was called in for a meeting only to know that my child needed to be pulled out from school as they could not keep her due to the cap on the number of admissions. The cap was 25 and my child was the 26th. I was threatened not to send the child to school from the following week. I kept my child home and later was given a consolation prize. She was allowed in school but had to sit in the library the whole day without being allowed to join her class and this went on for almost 10 days. So due to the management goof up, my innocent 11 year old had to suffer humiliation.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
Even though this is a parent run school, the parents on the board are mere puppets and have no say in the matter. It is completely controlled by principal. They do not encourage the involvement of parents in any way so that the alleged irregularities do not come under the scanner of the parents.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
A definite NO.
