What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

We were very worried at first for our four children (ages 9, 12, 14, 16) to transition in to a new country very different from upstate new york. however, there were so many new students in each grade they never felt alone. all faculty and students were very welcoming. although many students have moved around a lot before, this school understands the importance of community and has managed to accomplish a tight knit american community in Madrid. No, they do not reparation but we found no need because they prepared our children for the outside world very well. Our oldest child graduated in 2010 and is now attending Columbia University and he has explained how ASM prepared him very well for the outside world.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There are many fund-raisers each year to involve the parents in the community. There constant activities such as: parents night, carnivals, parents gala, auctions, family day etc. to bring the community even closer.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

I would advise them to apply early as this school is very respected and has limited availability. We are very proud of our child recently getting accepted into Duke University. We are so happy with this school.
