K-3 to 12

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

This report was written in 2004. Most students have drivers or ride the US Embassy Bus or utilize several private bus services.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Major improvements have been made over the last several years. There are distinct early childhood, elementary, middle school and high school divisions. A new 420 seat auditorium is under construction and will be completed in August, 2004. Progress is being made relative to acquiring another sports field beside the current facility.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Formal and informal orientation sessions are provided. A mid-year orientation session was initiated for the students arriving at that time of the year. Students are paired with a "buddy" for the initial days of attendance.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

The PTSO is very active and supports a wide variety of school activities. PTSO Board meetings are held monthly and are open to any parent wishing to attend. General sessions are held every two months and address a wide variety of topics relative to international education. The is also a development committee that seeks parent involvement for future development of the school.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Graduates of this school have gone on to many quality institutions of higher learning. Families which do well are those in which both the parent(s) and the student(s) seek out and take advantage of the many opportunities available for academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences.
