Parent's Review of TLC International School Azaibah in Azaibah, Muscat - Sultanate of Oman, Oman

What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

TLC International School Azaibah

In what town or city is this school located?

Azaibah, Muscat - Sultanate of Oman

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

British

What grade levels are represented at this school?

Nursery 1 to Primary Year 5

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

They walk, are driven by parents or are delivered by school transport (Kia Carnival 8 seater vehicles with child friendly seats for 5 children per vehicle - ie child seats or booster seats age appropriate). The TLC vehicles are, frankly, the safest modes of transport to and from school that are currently available in Oman. Quote from a TLC rep - but I can vouch for this.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Facilities are are very reasonable given that this is a small and privately resourced, growing Nursery and Primary school. There are nice and attratice play areas, good sized classrooms for pupil numbers no greater than 20, a nice ICTsuite, separate rooms for reading areas, Music room, Arabic room, French room, outdoor play area with climbing equipment, outdoor areas for PE and games. Extracurricular activies include ballet, gymmastics, football, ICT, cooking. Understandably activities are limited because of the afternoon heat.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

TLC welcomes children from all educational backgrounds and celebrates cultural diversity. We are glad that our children are able to develop their English language skills but are also encouraged to respect their language and cultures of origin.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

TLC works hard to encourage partnership between the school, parents and the community. We have a yearly charity event that raises money for charity.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

We feel that TLC promotes posiitve relationships between parents, and the community. The staff are helpful, friendly and dedicate.
