Parent's Review of Nanarat-Al-Riyadh International School for Girls in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

Nanarat-Al-Riyadh International School for Girls

In what town or city is this school located?

Riyadh

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

International

What grade levels are represented at this school?

Kindergarten to A-levels

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

own private car, taxis , bus

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

The worst facilities i have ever seen. with no labs in a condition to even be used by anyone. Equipment is just enough for one person which the teacher will use once a year for a demonstration. there is no sport equipment not even a football that children can play with. In the physical education lessons children up to the age of 16 are told to go outside and walk around the playground.the library practically has no books in and if they are they are cable of reading because they are the nature of encyclopedias. There are no after school clubs or revision sessions or anything of some sort. There are not even any school trips where the kids are allowed to have fun. Even the teachers will refuse to help children both academically and not.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

There was absolutely nothing whatsoever. My children was shoved into a classroom without any introduction not to the children or teachers. there was no guidance on where to go or what to do. This school was the least organised.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There are parent teacher meetings which are so unorganized. There are a bunch of teachers sitting in a room and without any order or time parents are just shoved in there.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

I would advice any parent who loves their children to never take them to this school. This school had left my children in tears for every day in fact to this day they have nightmares about it after moving back to the UK. The teachers are no where near experienced they are just working there as a time pass while their husbands are their to work. Their owners are feeding on your money, to them your child will be nothing but a object they are holding for money. To be honest, I wouldn't even let my worst enemies enroll their child in this school. If you are not of Saudi nationality or if your children are not as academically clever or even if your child just takes a little longer to learn, the teachers will treat them like dogs. To them your children are a burden, teachers will scream at your children for asking question and when they ask for help out of lessons they will tell them that they are busy drinking their tea. Yhe enrollment process will drive you insane every time the ask for a document you will take it to them and they will keep sending you back there is no order, no organisation even though they are treating your children as business even then they don't have the skills. The management of this school are so sexist to the extent that girls cant do anything to have fun they cant go on trips they can't take pictures they cant carry mobile phones. 1 year after moving my children I still feel regret and anger and so much hate towards this school they made their lives a living hell - especially miss Hanifa who was the deputy head.
