The program follow the US school calendar. L.I.F.E. School offers a full academic curriculum which includes instruction in Spanish, physical education, computers, yoga, music, and art to create a truly rounded education from pre-kindergarten through high school. After school we offer baseball, football, soccer, acrobatics and chess.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
Staff and students from several countries share their divergent roots to attain the common goal of an education with environmental awareness and global accord.
We aim to develop the individual talents of each student and teach them to relate the experience of the classroom to the realities of the world outside. Therefore we frequently organize hands-on activities.
Weekly Assemblies: Every Friday the whole school comes together to share discussions about things going on in the school, the community, and the world at large. We frequently invite people to provide the audience with interesting and colorful presentations of their cultural background, their travel experiences, their profession, or a project they are involved in.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
A general assembly of a "Parent's Association" annually elects a five person Board of Directors from their membership. The Board of Directors oversees the Administrative Director, who is Swiss, and the Technical Director, who is Guatemalan, who run the school on a day to day basis. The School is organized into an efficient, democratic and cooperative institution of highly motivated professionals.
