Submitted by wendymanuel

What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

St. George's School of Madrid

In what town or city is this school located?

Madrid

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

British

What grade levels are represented at this school?

Kindergarden-Grade 10

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Children get to school in various ways, but they mainly attend school by car.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

There are extra-activities of nearly every subject, music school is outstanding, they also practise various sports such as football, volleyball, judo, etc. They have just bought a new campus which has a lot of green areas and is very large.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

My daughters used to go to an international school, the change from the ib system to the british one was very smooth for both of them, teachers are great, all are native english-speakers, most of the staff are young and enthusiastic. I must say that St.George has one of the most lovely head-teacher, she is always involved with the children, listens to the children, and is always open to help an individual if she/he feels unhappy.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

You can always contact staff.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

My only advice to you is not to worry, your child will get a warm welcome and will have a great time through his/her time there. There is a big range of nationalities, so be sure that your kid will learn about other cultures.
