What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

Gyeonggi Suwon International School

In what town or city is this school located?

Suwon

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

American

What grade levels are represented at this school?

K12

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

School Bus

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Facilities are excellent in the school.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Well in terms of settling down at school, School hasn't done much and has not been very helpful. The teachers here somehow seem to have indifferent attitude towards child and seem to consider them adults. Besides mostly teachers work in couples - so Principal of the school and class teacher can be couple which makes it impossible to give any feedback regarding teacher to anyone in school. This school somehow also awkwardly enforces iPads in school even though most of the apps used are available on Android and other tabs etc..

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There are parent-teacher organisations - but mostly not much honest discussions with the parents.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

I would suggest to better look for international school in Seoul area due to below reasons :- Though the school fees of GSIS is fairly high, professionalism and standards are not that high. Though they have a good campus, it seems attitude and qualification of teachers may be lacking sometimes. So go for an international school in Seoul area.
