How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
The school offers quite a variety of extra curriculum and now participated in many inter-school tournaments but restricted to only Group B international school competitions. There is also the compulsory curriculum activity that all students have to do on every Thursday and the school offers a wide variety of activities from sports, uniform group and interesting club like photography, dance and radio dee-jaying. The school had upgraded it's outdoor basketball court. At the moment the school is already undergoing building of the other sports facilities like a new pool and gymnasium. Also on the way to rebuilding a new school building. Meals are included in the school fees and menu varies daily serving local and western dishes. Junior school given 2 breaks serving tea-break and lunch while Senior school has only 1 break time serving both tea and lunch. Break times are staggered to prevent over crowded. Every students from Year 3 to Year 11 requires to go for a compulsory study tour where they do community service while studying. Community Arts is also a compulsory subject in Year 9, 10 & 11.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
The school has 2 examinations during 2nd and 3rd terms. With the results as guidance, parents are able to help the kids and highlight it to the respective teachers. So far our kids are A*-A students which is what we want. What we like about this school is that it is a close knitted school and they are against bullying among students.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
There is no PTA yet but the school is going towards forming one as they are officially listed as a certified international school. Parents are occasionally roped in to lend a hand for fund raising drive especially for Market Day for Year 9, Prom night funds for Year 11 and Year 9 charity gifts for Christmas.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
The ratio of different nationalities in this school are well distributed. Students and teachers work very close together to excel in both sports and academic levels. The school also work seriously on their no bullying code. Only set back is it's compulsory for Malaysian to take Islamic Studies and extra Fardu Ain in their curriculum.
