Parent's Review of Global Indian International School in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)
Global Indian International School
In what town or city is this school located?
Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur
How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)
CBSE (Indian syllabus) & Cambridge
What grade levels are represented at this school?
Nursery - Higher Secondary
How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)
Most of the children come with the school bus or van and also by car.
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
Facilities in this school nothing to shout about as they don't have enough labs. Usually 2 classes will combine to use the science lab or they take turns . At times, the students don't get to use the lab if the higher standards are having exams as priority is given to them. ECA is good as the students are spoilt for choices.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
This school was really helpful to my kids during the nursery and primary level but definitely a NO NO to secondary level. The teachers turnover are very high and there are times where they have been no teachers at all for some subjects for 2-3 terms.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
Well the parents pay for the email facility but the teachers at times fail to use it.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
This school is good for nursery and primary but not at all beneficial to a student in a secondary level. The director here, Manoj is very arrogant and doesn't bother about the student welfare. It happened many times where the school bus that the students use to come had brake failure but yet Manoj still use the same bus. The principal is this school, Mamta Bhargawa is a puppet. At the moment, every year there are huge number of students leaving.
