Kuala Lumpur

British & international

Primary, secondary and pre-U

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
facilities are modern and up to date, CCA on arts, sports, etc are available. while school does not control children on electronics devices, so its common scene of children holding smart phones and ipads doing games and social media.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
language and learning support is available, while the quality of teachers varies. Even the head of learning support is not even trained with any special education, does not really understand the need for children with learning support. School accepts children with special needs, with parents separately hiring personal learning assistant for the kid; but many school teachers are not trained or experienced with special need children, so its common that children are sent home when his/her personal learning assistant is not available, and school does not provide any extra support or compensate for the days children were excluded from school, the duration ranges from days to weeks. some teachers are nice and supportive, but equal amount of class teacher went out of their way to exclude the special kids from their classes.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
social activities are good, parents workshop is fantastic, parents club also available.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
Garden is generally a good school, but very commercial, school doe not really care about individual kid, which is obviously seen from the way they treat kids with special need. Much higher (than other international schools) percentage of local business men's kids are there (could range up to 40~50%) and some of those kids were taught by their parents not to get involved with expat kids as those expats might leave anytime and waste time in making friends with them.
