An Expat Talks about Moving to Taif, Saudi Arabia

Submitted by ResearchTeam

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Taif

What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

Taif is a city located in the Makkah Province of Saudi Arabia. It is known for its mild climate and is a popular tourist destination. Before moving to Taif, expats should be aware that the city is conservative and that Islamic laws and customs are strictly enforced. Expats should also be aware that alcohol and pork are strictly prohibited in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, expats should be aware that women are expected to dress modestly and cover their hair in public. Finally, expats should be aware that the city is very hot during the summer months and can be quite humid.
