What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

Take several house hunting stay vacations. Have a established realtor. Mover, Laurel at Sullivan Moving in San Diego knew process and made a difficult move easy and had tremendous information.

What type of housing do you live in? Is this typical for most expats in your area?

House, gated community. Yes, lots of expats. Security.

How did you choose your neighborhood and find your home or apartment?

Several trips going to different complexes, at different times of day and getting good referral of long time real estate agent. Mover knew a great deal about pluses of areas also

Are your housing costs higher or lower than they were in your home country? What is the average cost of housing there?

Lower in Mexico. Half to 2/3 less.
