With more than 80 holiday seasons behind me, I do not get teary-eyed anymore. I celebrate being alive each day - that is eough, thanks. 50% wear masks, stay off the streets (hide under the bed), shun people like the plague (to coin a phrase). The mindset is non-Gringo: I do not have a burning need to tout my freedom to kill you & myself. We try to work as a team...remember? Something about I watch your back, & you watch mine...We feel much safer in NICA than in the crazy USA and/or crazy TeXas. H2O 212F

Look at EVERYTHING that took place during the 20th century. Lots of folk survived a lot of stuff hitting the fan. You, big boy, are being asked by your family, your state, your country to sit on the couch & wear a mask. Buck up! You can do it!

If locals celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah where you are living now, how is it celebrated differently?

The 24th is the big day. "Everybody" used to go to the beach on the 25th.

If locals do not celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah (and you do), what do you do for the holidays?

Nothing. I do not celebrate the tooth fairy either.
