Expat Advice: Culture Shock in Atlanta, Georgia

Submitted by ResearchTeam

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Atlanta

What are the most challenging aspects of the new culture?

Expats in Atlanta often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to. The pace of life is much faster than in many other cities, and the traffic can be overwhelming. Additionally, the city is very spread out, making it difficult to get around without a car. The local cuisine is also quite different from what many expats are used to, and the Southern hospitality can be a bit overwhelming for those who are not used to it. Finally, the hot and humid climate can be a challenge for those who are not used to it.
