Expat Advice: Culture Shock in Puglia, Italy

Submitted by ResearchTeam

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Puglia

What are the most challenging aspects of the new culture?

Expats in Puglia often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to. The language barrier can be a challenge, as many locals do not speak English. Additionally, the slower pace of life and the emphasis on family and tradition can be difficult to adjust to. Furthermore, the local cuisine can be quite different from what expats are used to, and the lack of international food options can be a challenge. Finally, the hot and humid climate can be difficult to adjust to for those coming from cooler climates.
