Expat Advice: Culture Shock in Sydney, Australia, Australia

Submitted by ResearchTeam

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Sydney, Australia

What are some things you appreciate most about the new culture?

One of the most beloved aspects of Sydney’s culture is its laid-back atmosphere. Expats love that the city is a great mix of the urban and the outdoors — they can enjoy plenty of city life while getting out of the bustling crowds to the beach or nearby parks. Expats also appreciate the welcoming nature of the locals and the city's strong art and culture scene, which features world-class restaurants, theaters, galleries, nightlife, and a variety of other entertainment options. Above all, expats enjoy Sydney’s wide array of outdoor activities, including surfing, boating, fishing, beach walks and other activities. Sydney’s stunningly beautiful beaches, parks, and harbor make the city one of the most attractive places to live in the world.
