Welcome to Dubrovnik! If you're planning to move to Dubrovnik, congratulations on taking the first step towards a new adventure. While there are many things to think about before you leave, such as visas, housing, and transportation, it's important to remember that once you arrive, the fun really begins. In this article, we'll introduce you to some of the best sites, restaurants, and nightlife that Dubrovnik has to offer, as well as provide tips on recreational activities and making friends in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik, is a city rich in history and culture, offering a plethora of attractions for both tourists and locals. The Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must-visit. Here, you can walk along the ancient city walls, offering stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and the city's red-tiled roofs. The Stradun, the main street in the Old Town, is lined with shops, cafes, and historical buildings like the Onofrio's Fountain and the Orlando's Column. The Rector's Palace, a Gothic-Renaissance structure, is now a museum showcasing the city's history. The Dubrovnik Cathedral and the Franciscan Monastery are other notable religious sites worth visiting.

For Game of Thrones fans, a tour of the filming locations, including the Fort Lovrijenac and the Min?eta Tower, is a must. The cable car ride to Mount Sr? offers panoramic views of the city and the sea. Lokrum Island, a short ferry ride from the Old Town, is a nature reserve with a botanical garden, a monastery, and peacocks roaming freely. The War Photo Limited is a powerful museum dedicated to war photography, while the Maritime Museum offers insights into Dubrovnik's seafaring past.

The restaurant and nightlife scene in Dubrovnik is vibrant and diverse. Nautika Restaurant, located by the sea near the Pile Gate, is one of the city's most prestigious dining spots, offering exquisite seafood and Croatian wines. Proto Fish Restaurant, in the heart of the Old Town, is renowned for its fresh fish and seafood dishes. For a more casual dining experience, Barba offers delicious street food-style seafood. Pantarul, located a bit away from the city center, is a local favorite for its modern Dalmatian cuisine.

For drinks and nightlife, the Buza Bar is a unique spot located on the cliffs outside the city walls, offering stunning sea views. The Revelin Club, located in a 16th-century fortress, is one of the city's top nightclubs. The D'vino Wine Bar in the Old Town offers a wide selection of Croatian wines. For a more relaxed evening, the Troubadour Hard Jazz Cafe is a popular spot for live music.

Recreational activities in Dubrovnik are largely centered around the sea and the outdoors. The city's beaches, like Banje Beach and Lapad Beach, are popular for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. Kayaking tours around the city walls and to Lokrum Island are a popular activity. The Dubrovnik Riding School offers horse riding experiences for all levels. For a unique experience, the Dubrovnik Sea Kayak and Snorkeling Tour offers a combination of kayaking around the city walls and snorkeling in the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
