Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Antigua & Barbuda.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Antigua & Barbuda.

In Antigua and Barbuda, a foreigner who wishes to drive legally must obtain a temporary local driving permit. This can be acquired from car rental agencies or the local police station. The individual must present a valid driver's license from their home country. The temporary local driving permit is valid for three months. There is a fee associated with obtaining this permit, which is approximately 50 Eastern Caribbean Dollars (around 20 US Dollars).

It's important to note that in Antigua and Barbuda, driving is on the left-hand side of the road. Seat belts are mandatory and using a mobile phone while driving is prohibited. The legal drinking age is 18, and the maximum blood alcohol content is 0.08%.

There are no different requirements based on the city, state, or region in Antigua and Barbuda. The rules and regulations for driving are consistent throughout the country.
