Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Bangladesh.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh, foreigners who wish to drive must have a valid international driving permit (IDP) along with their valid home country driving license. The IDP is valid for one year, after which the foreigner must obtain a local driving license. To get a local driving license, the foreigner must pass a driving test, which includes both a written and practical examination. The applicant must also be at least 18 years old and physically fit.

There are no specific requirements that differ based on the city, state, or region in Bangladesh. However, traffic rules and regulations may vary slightly, and it is always advisable to be aware of local traffic laws and customs. It's also important to note that driving in Bangladesh can be challenging due to heavy traffic and different driving habits, so it's recommended to have a good understanding of the local driving culture.

Additionally, it's worth noting that Bangladesh drives on the left-hand side of the road, which may require some adjustment for those accustomed to driving on the right-hand side. Also, the country has strict laws against drunk driving, and seat belts are mandatory for all passengers.
