Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Grenada.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Grenada.

In Grenada, foreigners who wish to drive must obtain a local driving permit. This can be acquired from the Traffic Department at the Central Police Station on the Carenage in St. George's, or from any police station in the rural areas. The applicant must present a valid driver's license from their home country. The cost of the permit is EC $60.00 and it is valid for one year. It's important to note that driving in Grenada is on the left-hand side of the road.

There are no different requirements based on the city, state, or region in Grenada. The rules and regulations for driving are consistent throughout the entire country. However, it's recommended to be cautious while driving as the roads can be narrow, winding, and steep, especially in rural areas. Also, drivers should be aware that seat belts are mandatory and using a mobile phone while driving is prohibited.
