Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Saint Lucia.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Saint Lucia.

In Saint Lucia, a foreigner who wishes to drive legally must obtain a temporary local driving permit. This can be acquired from the car rental agency or the local police station. The individual must present a valid driver's license from their home country. The temporary driving permit is valid for three months. It is important to note that in Saint Lucia, driving is on the left-hand side of the road.

There are no different requirements based on the city, state, or region in Saint Lucia as the driving laws and regulations are countrywide. However, it is always advisable to be aware of local traffic rules and regulations, as well as road conditions, which may vary across different parts of the island.
