Digital Nomads interested in bustling city life in Thailand often choose to live in Bangkok. The mesmerizing pace of the city, incredibly delicious and affordable food, and the endlessly fascinating culture combine to attract nomads from across the world.

If you're coming from the U.S., U.K., Australia or another country with a similar standard of living, you'll probably find the cost of living in Bangkok very affordable.

In a report that offers 12 Tips for Living in Bangkok, one expat noted that "Bangkok is thriving, exciting city of 9 million with a low cost of living and no cold weather! It is also a hub for Asia with inexpensive flights almost anywhere."

Do remember about the weather: it has periods of extreme heat and a rainy season. If you have enough control over your living and working situation, November to March offers the most "moderate" weather. That doesn't mean it won't get hot or that you'll have no rain, it's just moderate... for Thailand. An expat wrote: "There are 3 seasons - Very hot, rainy and humid, and nicely warm."

As far as transportation in Bangkok, The expat also shared: "I use the BTS every day, it runs about every 6 minutes I think 5 am to midnight. There is also the MRT underground and a very large bus system. All are safe and inexpensive."

Another expat commented: "Transportation systems also include taxis, 3 wheeler "Tuk-Tuks", "Baht" buses and motorcycle taxis, although the latter should be used cautiously, since most road accidents in Thailand involve motorcycles. However motorcycle taxis are arguably safer than non-commercial motorcycles since the owners use them to make a living."

When one expat said, "I have never not felt safe in Bangkok and just use common sense. I have taken public transport late at night and never worried about safety," which prompted another to advise: "Bangkok is generally quite safe, but be wary of unlighted or poorly lit lanes at night."
