Summary: If you're moving to Mexico City with kids, international schools are probably a top priority. Here's a list of some of the most well-known international schools and bilingual schools in Mexico City.

There are many bilingual and international school options for expats kids in Mexico City. You'll be much happier if you live close to work and your children's school. When looking at schools, take location into consideration. One expat advised, "Find a place near office, then start looking for schools nearby. Don't be stressed about finding 'the best', there are many schools in a lot of areas with very good programmes, bilingual, etc."

Below are some of the schools that are often recommended by expats. If you don't see your school on the list and would like it added, submit it here.

The Westhill Institute

The Westhill Institute is an American International school that serves pre-K through 12th graders. They have three campuses: Monte Athos (Preschool), Monte Carpatos (Preschool, Elementary) and Sante Fe (Preschool, Elementary, Secondary). Westhill offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and the IB Diploma Program (DP). One parent commented, "We looked at a lot of schools and chose Westhill even over the American School Foundation. The ASF seemed to us to be too big, not very caring, not as intimate with the students. If your children will only be in Mexico for the primary grade years I would recommend you stick with a smaller school like Westhill."

"I would say that this is a wonderful school, if you can afford it. If you teach at the school your kids go for free. They have a great staff and your child will have a wonderful experience!," said one parent. Other parents mention that the school has a lot of students from very wealthy Mexican families, which impacts the social experience at the school.

One parent at Wingate wrote, "The school does a lot. They are a small school. The administration is very communicative and gave us an appointment via Skype before we moved to Mexico. They admissions process is very complete and they look at the childin a personal way. They are familiar with most international curriculums. Contact them as soon as you can as places are limited. Bilingual Schools for Spanish-Speaking Students

Some of the schools we researched seem to cater mostly to Spanish-speaking students who are interested in learning English in a bilingual curriculum. In our opinion, these types of schools would be appropriate for an expat who already speaks Spanish, but a new student with limited Spanish skills (especially older students) would probably have a hard time adjusting and feeling at home.

Some of these schools include:

Colegio Del Bosque
