There are a number of good international school options in Chiang Mai. Some offer bilingual curriculum, others are based on the British educational system and one offers all three levels of the IB. Here are some of the most popular international schools in Chiang Mai:
Prem Tinsulanonda International School Chiang Mai
Prem Tinsulanonda International School Chiang Mai is competitive school that welcomes pre-K through high school students and offers all three IB levels. Prem is located on a beautiful 100-acre campus north of central Chiang Mai with an beautiful pool, golf driving range and tennis center. Prem has a boarding program with approximately 150 boarders who typically come to Prem for its IB program.
Chiang Mai International School
Chiang Mai International School (CMIS) welcomes pre-K through 12th grade students and is centrally located. It is the oldest international school in Chiang Mai and is affiliated with the Church of Christ in Thailand. It was founded by missionaries returning to work after WWII. The campus has expanded in recent years with the addition of a modern Secondary School building, a learning center and a new cafeteria.
Lanna International School
Lanna International School follows a British curriculum and welcomes students from pre-K through A Levels (Similar to Grades 12-13). There are two campuses, Secondary campus and the Primary & Early Years campus, are located in close proximity.
Nakornpayap International School
Nakornpayap International School (NIS) is another pre-K through 12th grade international school. The campus has a half-Olympic sized pool, a full-sized football field, a gym, a dance studio and basketball courts.
Panyaden International School
Panyaden International School is a pre-K through Year 9, bilingual school. Panyaden's campus has a focus on green architecture and a number of buildings are made of earth and bamboo.
