While there are many things to think about before you leave, such as visas, housing, and transportation, it's important to remember that once you arrive, the fun really begins. In this article, we'll introduce you to some of the best sites, restaurants, and nightlife that Consejo has to offer, as well as provide tips on recreational activities and making friends in Consejo.

Consejo, is a small village located in the Corozal District, known for its tranquil ambiance and beautiful coastal views. One of the main attractions in Consejo is the Consejo Shores, a peaceful residential community with parks and an 18-hole golf course. It's a great place to enjoy a leisurely walk, take in the stunning sea views, and spot a variety of bird species. The community is also home to the Consejo Shores Golf Course, a popular spot for golf enthusiasts.

Another site of interest is the Cerros Mayan Ruins, located a short distance away from Consejo. This ancient Mayan city, which dates back to 200 BC, features several temples, plazas, and a canal system. Visitors can explore the ruins, learn about the Mayan civilization, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area from the top of the largest pyramid.

For those interested in shopping, the Free Zone is a must-visit. Located on the Belize-Mexico border, this duty-free shopping area offers a wide range of goods, including clothing, electronics, and liquor. The nearby town of Corozal also offers several attractions, such as the Santa Rita Mayan Ruins and the Corozal Town Hall.

The restaurant and nightlife scene in Consejo is relatively quiet, reflecting the village's laid-back atmosphere. However, there are several places where visitors can enjoy delicious food and drinks. Smuggler's Den, located in Consejo Shores, is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. This restaurant and bar offers a variety of dishes, including seafood, steaks, and Belizean specialties, as well as a selection of cocktails and beers. Recreational activities in Consejo are centered around the outdoors. Fishing is a popular pastime, with the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea providing an excellent habitat for a variety of fish species. Visitors can rent a boat or join a guided fishing tour to try their luck at catching snapper, grouper, or barracuda.

The natural beauty of Consejo, with its stunning beaches and lush greenery, provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and fishing. The climate is tropical, with warm temperatures year-round, which is a major draw for many expats and digital nomads.English is the official language of Belize, making it easy for English-speaking expats and digital nomads to communicate with locals and navigate daily life. However, Spanish is also widely spoken, and learning a few basic phrases can enhance the cultural experience. For digital nomads, the internet connectivity in Consejo can be a challenge. While it is generally reliable in the town itself, it can be less so in more remote areas. Therefore, it's important for digital nomads to have a backup plan in case of connectivity issues.Healthcare in Consejo is adequate for basic needs, but for more serious conditions, expats may need to travel to larger cities or even out of the country. It's recommended that expats and digital nomads have comprehensive health insurance. The food in Consejo is a blend of local and international cuisines, with plenty of fresh seafood and tropical fruits. There are also several grocery stores where expats can find familiar products from home.Overall, life in Consejo for expats and digital nomads offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and a relaxed lifestyle. However, it's important to be prepared for the challenges that come with living in a developing country, such as occasional power outages and limited healthcare facilities," commented an expat living in Consejo.
