Bedminster

Suburban

Located in Somerset County, New Jersey, Bedminster Township is a rural suburban community characterized by a wide-range of housing options. Quiet neighborhoods, town homes, horse farms, sprawling estates, and well-preserved open spaces are all part of Bedminster's landscape.

Bedminster is one of the five towns that make up the Somerset Hills area. The other four are Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, Far Hills, and Peapack and Gladstone.

With roughly 26 square miles of land, Bedminster covers a fairly large area and has four "villages" in the township: Bedminster Village, Pluckemin, Lamington and Pottersville. These villages are somewhat disparate from one another - and each is unique and has its own charming character. Outside of these villages, there are housing developments, farms, estates, and single housing units on widely-varying sizes of lots.

Bedminster's Parks and Facilities include playing fields for almost all youth sports, hiking, picnics, fishing and more. River Road Park is the town's centerpiece park and has an astounding 300+ acres for all kinds of recreation. Beyond what's available in Bedminster, nearby towns also offer Natirar County Park (which is partially in Beminster), Jockey Hollow, Hacklebarney State Park, and the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge, among others.

Bedminster's history includes landmarks such as the Jacobus Vanderveer House. Bedminster's village of Pluckemin is also notable for having hosted the Pluckemin Artillery Cantonment, America's first military academy, during the war.

The township's proximity to major highways (I-287, I-78, 202, 206) and corporate centers make it a popular choice for commuters and professionals working in the greater New York City metropolitan area.

Cost of Living

The cost of living in Bedminster is high, with housing prices significantly above the state and national averages. This is reflective of the township's desirable location, quality of life, and the premium placed on privacy and space.

Weather

Bedminster experiences a four-season climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters.
