New Delhi is the capital city of India and serves as the seat of all three branches of the Government of India. It is a sprawling, vibrant metropolis located in the northern part of the country and is part of the larger National Capital Territory of Delhi. New Delhi is characterized by its wide boulevards, numerous national institutions, and landmarks such as the India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the Parliament of India. The city is a hub for politics, administration, culture, and education in India. It boasts a rich historical tapestry, with several UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and the Red Fort. The city's urban landscape is a blend of ancient architecture and modern developments, with bustling markets like Chandni Chowk juxtaposed against the upscale shopping districts like Connaught Place. New Delhi is also known for its diverse cuisine, ranging from street food to fine dining, reflecting the myriad of cultures that influence the city. The city's population is a mix of people from across India, making it a melting pot of ethnicities and traditions. Despite its charms, New Delhi faces challenges such as pollution, traffic congestion, and overpopulation, which are common in rapidly growing cities.

Weather

New Delhi experiences extreme weather conditions with very hot summers, a monsoon season, and relatively cool winters. The summer months can see temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius, while winters can be quite chilly with temperatures occasionally dipping below 5 degrees Celsius.

Schools in New Delhi

International Schools
New Delhi is home to several international schools such as the American Embassy School, which provides an American-based education to students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, and the British School, which offers the National Curriculum of England to students of over 55 nationalities.

Bi-lingual Schools
The British School in New Delhi also offers a bilingual curriculum and there are other schools like the German School New Delhi (Deutsche Schule Neu-Delhi) which provides bilingual education in German and English.

Healthcare in New Delhi

New Delhi is home to some of the best healthcare facilities in India, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), which is a premier medical school and a tertiary care hospital that provides comprehensive healthcare services. Other notable hospitals include the Fortis Healthcare and Max Super Speciality Hospital, both of which offer advanced medical treatments and are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
