The city's central square, Ala-Too Square, is a popular gathering place and the location of many public events and celebrations. Bishkek's markets, such as the Osh Bazaar, are vibrant and colorful, offering a glimpse into the local culture and an opportunity to purchase regional goods. Despite its growth, Bishkek retains a laid-back atmosphere and is considered to be one of the most accessible and welcoming capitals in Central Asia.
