Acapulco
Beach Coastal BeachesAcapulco, officially known as Acapulco de Juárez, is a vibrant city and major seaport located in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It is one of Mexico's oldest and most well-known beach resorts, which came into prominence by the 1950s as a getaway for Hollywood stars and millionaires. Acapulco is famed for its crescent-shaped bay, pristine beaches, and energetic nightlife. The city is divided into two main areas: the traditional Acapulco, which caters to tourists on a budget and is rich with local culture, and the modern Diamante area, which is known for luxury hotels, upscale shopping, and exclusive restaurants. The city's natural beauty is stunning, with a backdrop of the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains juxtaposed against the deep blue waters of the Pacific. Acapulco is also famous for La Quebrada, where professional cliff divers plunge into the ocean from heights of up to 35 meters. Despite some challenges, Acapulco continues to be a popular tourist destination, offering a range of activities from water sports to golf, along with cultural experiences such as the historic Fort of San Diego, which now houses the Acapulco Historical Museum.
