The Samui Expats Club is a non-profit social organisation founded on Koh Samui in June of 2005 and is accredited by the national Association of Thailand Expat Clubs (ATEC).
The two goals of SEC is to bring together the expat and Thai communities at a 'First Friday of the Month' Expats Party and the 'Children's Charity' for children and youth in need. The monthly 'Expats Party' is held at 5-star resort/restaurant and includes 'welcome reception', presentation, dinner buffet and music/dancing. Membership is optional and all are welcomed. What is unique about your organization?
SEC continues to draw the largest attendance of any club on the island. Mainly due to Samui Expats Club objective to simply 'bring together all interested in sharing expat resources and meeting other expats in a social & beautiful setting' at the monthly 'Expats Party' - without having to be a member. In addition, it feels good to know a portion of the modest entry fee goes to the 'Children's fund.
Membership is optional and expats and Thais can attend the monthly events; volunteer at SEC 'Kid's English Language Workshop Camps' and help with the 'Kid's Holiday Party' workshops regardless of membership. No other organisation
What kind of activities does your group sponsor?
Samui Expats Club sponsors the monthly Expats Party and 'Children's Charity' events which include English Language Workshop Camps, annual English Composition & Understanding Contest (with all government schools represented at a children's fair) and special 'Children's Holiday Parties' that entertain via 'The Family Samui' over 1,500 children and youth from government schools every year. Over 100,000 Baht has been donated in four ceremonies to children in need projects over the past two years.
