Summary: Exploring the Best of Sai Kung: Your Guide to Top Sites, Restaurants, Nightlife, and More. From Cultural Experiences to Outdoor Adventures, We'll Help You Make the Most of Your Time in the City.

Welcome to Sai Kung! If you're planning to move to Sai Kung, congratulations on taking the first step towards a new adventure. While there are many things to think about before you leave, such as visas, housing, and transportation, it's important to remember that once you arrive, the fun really begins. In this article, we'll introduce you to some of the best sites, restaurants, and nightlife that Sai Kung has to offer, as well as provide tips on recreational activities and making friends in Sai Kung.

Sai Kung, often referred to as the "back garden of Hong Kong," is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers. One of the most popular attractions is the Sai Kung East Country Park, a designated UNESCO Global Geopark, where visitors can explore volcanic rock formations and stunning coastal landscapes. The park is also home to Sharp Island, a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling. Another must-visit is the Sai Kung West Country Park, which offers hiking trails with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and sea.

For those interested in local culture, Sai Kung Town is a bustling fishing village with a vibrant seafood market. Here, visitors can select their own seafood and have it cooked at one of the nearby restaurants. The Sai Kung Pier is another popular spot, offering boat tours to the outlying islands. The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts also has a campus in Sai Kung, where visitors can catch a variety of performances.

Despite its rural setting, Sai Kung has a thriving restaurant and nightlife scene. One of the most popular restaurants is Loaf On, the first Michelin-starred restaurant in Sai Kung, known for its fresh seafood dishes. Another favorite is Sing Kee, a lively seafood restaurant located right on the waterfront. For a more international flavor, visitors can head to Alioli, which serves up delicious Spanish cuisine, or Momentai, a laid-back bar and restaurant with a stunning view of the harbor.

For drinks, The Picture House is a popular choice. This bar-cum-cinema offers a unique experience where patrons can enjoy a drink while watching a movie. Another popular spot is the Sai Kung Cafe and Bakery, which transforms into a lively bar in the evening. For those looking for a more traditional pub experience, The Duke of York is a British-style pub that offers a wide selection of beers and ales.

Sai Kung is also a hub for outdoor recreational activities. Hiking is a popular pastime, with trails such as the MacLehose Trail and the High Island Reservoir East Dam offering stunning views. The area is also known for its water sports, with companies like Sai Kung SUP offering stand-up paddleboarding lessons and rentals. For those interested in fishing, Sai Kung Pier offers boat rentals for day trips.

For a more relaxed activity, the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club offers a world-class golf course with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course is another popular choice, offering three 18-hole golf courses. Finally, for those looking to relax and unwind, the Trio Beach is a secluded spot perfect for sunbathing and swimming.
