Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Azerbaijan.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Azerbaijan.

Foreigners who wish to drive in Azerbaijan must have a valid international driving permit along with their valid national driving license. The international driving permit must be obtained in the driver's home country before traveling to Azerbaijan. It's also important to note that the driving permit is only valid for a certain period, usually one year. After this period, foreigners who wish to continue driving in Azerbaijan must apply for a local driving license.

Additionally, drivers must be at least 18 years old to drive a private vehicle and at least 21 years old to drive a commercial vehicle. They must also have appropriate insurance for their vehicle. It's also recommended to have a document that proves ownership or rental of the vehicle.

As for regional differences, the requirements for driving in Azerbaijan are generally the same across the entire country. However, it's always a good idea to check with local authorities or a legal advisor to ensure you have the most accurate and up-to-date information.
