Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Belarus.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Belarus.

In Belarus, foreigners who wish to drive must have a valid international driving permit (IDP) along with their valid national driving license. The IDP must be issued in the same country as the national driving license. The driver must also be at least 18 years old. It's important to note that the vehicle must be insured in Belarus, and the driver must carry proof of this insurance while driving. Additionally, the driver must have a valid visa if they are from a country that requires a visa to enter Belarus.

Belarus has a zero-tolerance policy for driving under the influence of alcohol. Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers, and children under 12 years old must be seated in a child safety seat. Using a mobile phone while driving is prohibited unless you have a hands-free system.

As for regional differences, the rules of the road in Belarus are consistent throughout the country, so there are no variations based on city, state, or region. However, it's always a good idea to familiarize oneself with local traffic signs and regulations, as some local customs or practices may differ.
