Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Brunei.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Brunei.

In Brunei, foreigners who wish to drive legally must have a valid international driving permit (IDP) along with their valid driving license from their home country. The IDP must be obtained in the home country before traveling to Brunei. It is also important to note that the driving license must be in English or an English translation should be provided. If a foreigner plans to stay in Brunei for a long period, they may need to apply for a Brunei driving license.

As Brunei is a small nation, the driving regulations are consistent throughout the country and do not vary by city, state, or region. However, it is always recommended to stay updated with the local traffic rules and regulations, as they may change over time. It's also worth noting that driving in Brunei is on the left-hand side of the road, and the legal driving age is 18 years.
