Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Kosovo.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Kosovo.

Foreigners who wish to drive in Kosovo must have a valid international driving license or a national driving license that is written in the Roman alphabet. The license must be valid for the type of vehicle they intend to drive. In addition to the driving license, they must also have a valid passport or ID card. It is also recommended to have an international insurance card (Green Card) as it is recognized in Kosovo.

It's important to note that Kosovo has a zero-tolerance policy for driving under the influence of alcohol. Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers, and the use of a mobile phone while driving is prohibited unless you have a hands-free system.

There are no specific requirements that differ based on the city, state, or region in Kosovo. However, drivers should be aware that road conditions can vary significantly throughout the country, and extra caution should be taken when driving in rural areas or during winter months due to potential hazards such as poor road conditions and limited visibility.
