Summary: Here's a primer on how to get your driver's license in Pakistan.

Sometimes when you're new to a country a task like getting your driver's license can make you feel like you're 16 years old again trying to pass your driver's test. Here's an overview of the process of getting your driver's license in Pakistan.

Foreigners who wish to drive in Pakistan must have a valid international driving permit (IDP) along with their valid home country driving license. The IDP must be issued by the same country that issued their original driving license. It's important to note that the IDP is valid for only one year. After that, foreigners are required to obtain a Pakistani driving license.

To obtain a Pakistani driving license, foreigners must pass a written test, a sign test, and a driving test. They must also provide a medical certificate proving they are physically fit to drive, a copy of their valid visa and passport, and four passport-sized photographs. The applicant must be at least 18 years old.

As for regional differences, the driving rules and regulations are generally the same across the country. However, the process and requirements for obtaining a local driving license may vary slightly from one province to another. It's always best to check with the local traffic police office for the most accurate information.
