Summary: If you're moving to Yamoussoukro with kids, choosing a school if often your first decisions and impacts where you'll live. Here are some popular bilingual and international schools in Yamoussoukro

Yamoussoukro, the political capital of Ivory Coast, offers a more limited selection of international or bilingual schools compared to larger expat hubs. However, expat families can still find quality education options for their children. Among the most popular choices are the International Christian Academy and the Yamoussoukro French School, which cater to the diverse educational needs of expat children. These schools are known for their rigorous curricula and supportive learning environments. While there may not be a vast array of international schools directly within Yamoussoukro, several reputable institutions are located within a reasonable driving distance, ensuring that expat and digital nomad families can provide their children with a solid educational foundation while living in Ivory Coast.

International Christian Academy (ICA)

The International Christian Academy, located in Bouaké, is a boarding and day school that serves the children of missionaries and international workers in West Africa. It offers an American-style curriculum with a Christian worldview. The school provides Advanced Placement (AP) courses for high school students and a range of extracurricular activities, including sports, music, and drama. ICA's facilities include modern classrooms, science labs, a library, and sports fields.

Yamoussoukro French School (École Française de Yamoussoukro)

The school is equipped with modern facilities and offers a range of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, and cultural clubs.

International Bilingual School of Provence (IBSP)

Grades: Preschool through Grade 12
Location(s): Abidjan (approximately 2.5 hours from Yamoussoukro)

Although a bit further away in Abidjan, the International Bilingual School of Provence is an option for families who are willing to commute or relocate closer to Abidjan. IBSP offers a bilingual French-English education and follows the IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum. The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including science labs, computer rooms, and sports facilities. It also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, from robotics to performing arts.

Please note that while the International Christian Academy and the International Bilingual School of Provence are not within a 40-minute drive from Yamoussoukro, they are included due to the limited options within the immediate vicinity and may be suitable for families considering boarding options or those who are flexible with their living arrangements.
