Summary: If you''re moving to Sarteneja with kids, choosing a school if often your first decisions and impacts where you''ll live. Here are some popular bilingual and international schools in Sarteneja

Sarteneja, is a quaint coastal village known for its serene beauty and close-knit community. While it offers a peaceful lifestyle for expats and digital nomads, it is not a bustling metropolis with a wide array of international or bilingual schools. However, there are a few educational options in the surrounding areas that cater to expat children. Two of the most popular schools within a reasonable driving distance from Sarteneja are the Belize High School of Agriculture and Cornerstone Foundation Learning Center, both offering unique educational experiences in English.

Belize High School of Agriculture (BHSA)

Grades: Secondary education
Location(s): San Lazaro Village, Orange Walk District

The Belize High School of Agriculture is a secondary institution that, while not exclusively an international or bilingual school, conducts classes in English and is accustomed to accommodating students from various backgrounds. The school focuses on agricultural science and general education, providing a unique blend of practical and academic learning. Facilities include classrooms, science labs, and agricultural plots for hands-on learning. Extracurricular activities often revolve around environmental and agricultural themes, fostering a sense of community and stewardship among students.

Cornerstone Foundation Learning Center

Grades: Preschool through Grade 8
Location(s): San Pedro, Ambergris Caye

Cornerstone Foundation Learning Center is a private institution that offers education from preschool to middle school. While it is a bit of a journey from Sarteneja, it is accessible by boat and is a viable option for families looking for an English-speaking environment. The curriculum is based on the Belizean education system, and the school prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere. Facilities include modern classrooms, a library, and a computer lab, and the school offers a range of extracurricular activities to enhance the educational experience.

Please note that due to the remote location of Sarteneja, the options for international or bilingual schools are limited and may require some travel. It is recommended that expat families consider the logistics of daily commutes or potential relocation closer to the school of choice to ensure the best educational experience for their children.
