How long can I stay?

I'm an American who has now been living in Costa Rica and Nicaragua for 5 plus years. I plan on coming to the D.R. soon and need to know how long my original entry permits me to stay. Here in Nic., I must only bus to Costa Rica once every 6 mos., spend one night and return to Nic. and then I am good for another 6 mo. here. How's it work there? Thanks, Tim.
